The Anthurium warocqueanum (Anthurium warocqueanum), fondly known as the Queen Anthurium, is a coveted velvet-leaved aroid native to the cloud forests of Colombia, typically found between 400 and 1,200 metres in elevation, where it grows as an epiphytic creeper clinging to trees. It is celebrated for its long, heart-shaped, velvety leaves with prominent silvery venation. Indoors, leaf blades can reach 90–120 cm in length and up to 38 cm wide, with specimens in the wild sometimes growing even larger.
As a demanding tropical houseplant, it thrives in bright, indirect light, consistently high humidity (70–90%), and warm temperatures (around 18–30 °C). It is best grown in a loose, well-draining medium such as sphagnum moss or an aroid blend containing perlite and bark, while avoiding waterlogged conditions.
Slow-growing but rewarding, this regal species reveals its elegance over time, standing as a green jewel in any indoor collection.
