  • The Zodiac Moth (Alcides zodiaca), also known as the North Queensland (Cairns) Day Moth, is endemic to Tropical North Queensland. It can be seen across the Cairns region, throughout the Wet Tropics Rainforest, along the Russell and Mulgrave rivers, and across the Atherton Tablelands. Resembling a swallowtail butterfly in size, colouring, and diurnal habits, the Zodiac Moth displays striking orange and black bands across its wings. These moths are often found flying and feeding alongside butterflies and are relatively unfazed by people, living happily in suburban gardens.

    -       Remove from clothing before washing.

    -       Avoid contact with lotions, perfume or excessive sunlight.

    -       Keep in a cool, dry location when not being warn.
